Picnic Baskets Can Make Great Gifts |

My husband and I were invited to several weddings last summer. My
daughter has friends that are getting married and some of our friends
also have children that are getting married. I was also invited to the
bridal showers for those weddings. All of the couples were registered
at various bridal registries. I decided to give a similar priced item
from the registry for the wedding gifts for each of the couples.
However, I wanted to find shower gifts that would be fun for the
couples.
I decided to go to one of my favorite import stores to see if I could come up with a gift idea. A sales person approached me after I looked at several things. She suggested picnic baskets after I told her about the bridal showers. She said that the picnic baskets would be a fun gift to give because they could be personalized to the likes of each couple.
The picnic baskets that were on display have two wine glasses, napkins, two plates, silverware and a table cloth. These items were neatly packed in the top of each of the picnic baskets which left room in the bottom of the baskets for food items.
I purchased several baskets and decided to fill each with things that each of the couples would like. Since some of the couples like different kinds of wines, I bought bottles of wine, cork screws and a variety of crackers that would go well with cheese to fill their picnic baskets.
I also decided to go to a local deli to buy gift certificates so that the couples could purchase the rest of their picnic foods. I also bought gift certificates for the other picnic baskets while I was at the deli. I put energy drinks in some of the baskets along with the deli gift certificates for the other couples who are into hiking, biking and other physical activities.
It was nice to know that the couples liked the picnic baskets. One of the couples even invited my daughter and her boyfriend to go on a picnic with them. They used the picnic basket and bought food from the deli that the gift certificate was from. I was delighted know that the gifts that I gave give are being used by the couples.
