I can still remember that hot summer day. I was fumbling around in the boat for a bobber. I loved these things. They were probably my favorite aspect of fishing. After all, how else was I supposed to know if a fish was gnawing on the line or not? I was only seven years old. The bobber made it simple.

If it plunged below the water's surface, I knew a fish was nibbling. So anyway, I got my bobber situated and threaded a nice fat night-crawler on that sharp hook. Just the way my father had taught me.

It was kind of gross watching its guts ooze out. Regardless, I whipped that fishing rod as hard as I could. You know, to get the line way out there, away from the boat. I didn't want the noise we were making to scare away the fish. Sadly the entire rod went airborne.

That's always a bummer. My father giggled and then went and got it. Needless to say, my fishing has improved over the years. However, these days I use online fishing guides to find the absolute best spots around.

Are you a big-time fisherman or woman? I guess I wouldn't call myself one of these. But, I do like to find a nice quiet spot once in a while and fish with my daughter.

She absolutely loves it. At first I never would have thought she'd be into fishing. To my surprise, she seems to be a better fisherman than I am. You should see her bait that hook.

Not long ago I was scanning the web for fishing guides. It didn't take long to find a great guide that led me to a number of cool fishing hotspots. A couple of them were even close to my house.

That is awesome. It makes it so much easier to head out for a quick fishing trip. My daughter keeps telling me she's going to bring home dinner. I have to say, I don't doubt it one bit.

Interested in modern-day fishing guides? Well, if you have Internet access, then you can certainly enjoy them. You don't even need to know a specific web address.

Just bring up Google and punch in the words "fishing guides." This will take you right to the finest ones available. Check out all the current hot-spots and see which one is the closest to you.
