A Picnic Idea To Feast On |

My daughter surprised me with delightful news. Her best friend was
getting married. They have been best friends since they were toddlers.
My daughter excitedly told me that she was going to be the maid of
honor and suggested that it would be fitting to hold a bridal shower in
the bride’s honor. Since my daughter had relocated to another state
after her marriage, she suggested that we plan the shower at our home.
My daughter mentioned that the bride was having several showers including one at her workplace, her fiance’s, and her church group. We decided to invite her neighborhood friends as well as her relatives. We also agreed to have a theme for the shower. Since she and her fiancé are outdoor enthusiasts and spend much of their camping, we decided that it would be nice to have a picnic theme for the shower.
This picnic idea was excellent for several reasons. Our backyard would be perfect for the shower. Since we invited a lot of people the backyard would be able to accommodate them easily. My flowers are all in season and my plants are in their and are excellent in setting the mood of the picnic. Through the years our backyard was also the setting of previous tea parties, camping sleepovers, and ball games and it held special memories for the bride and several of the guests.
The picnic idea also means that food preparation would be fun and fairly simple since my husband and the bride’s father will barbeque like they have been doing for the girls. Gourmet hamburgers and salad were perfect for our picnic idea. We also acquired red and white checked table cloth for the tables.
The number of guest means that we had to borrow additional picnic tables from our neighbors to accommodate every one. We served wine and drinks from a bar area on our deck. We also arranged daisies and babies breath to decorate each table. The overall effect was wonderful and was perfect for the shower.
Most of guests appreciated our picnic idea for the shower; they said it was a comfortable and relaxing event. The bride absolutely loved the picnic idea for her shower. For her it was the best one because it allowed her to relax and have fun as well. It is a great feeling when you host a party that is greatly appreciated. You should also try to think of other ideas to help you create your own memorable wedding shower.
